6.3 Magnitude Earthquake!

As-salaam and hi. I'm still scared of the earthquake and aftershocks! Praise be to Allah, my family and I are safe. Please pray for our safety and well being!
I'll tell you when this quake  occurred...

At Burnside High School
  • Nine minutes to one o'clock,  I was waiting for my Food Technology teacher to unlock the computer lab door. We ( the other pupils and I) were queueing patiently.
  • Suddenly, it was shaking so strongly (6.3 magnitude) that the lights blacked out.
  • I panicked and didn't know where to go, so I followed the other pupils running to the main field.
  • The first quake stopped.
  • I was lost, I didn't know where my class is..
  • So I asked a teacher and I found my classmates. Mrs. Joel, my form teacher said, " Oh, there you are."
  • I was the last to arrive there.
  • Not long after that, another quake (5.0 magnitude) came. The cars were shaking.
  • Luckily, the school didn't have any damage at all (the teacher said so).
  • Some girl students cried and hugged each other. My close friends, Mandy, Madeline and Nini told me to relax.
  • My parents came and fetched me home.
At my cosy home
On news, a building collapsed caused by the quake
  • I was so shocked after I saw the news on TV3, some buildings in the city collapsed. At least 65 people were confirmed dead. Many others were trapped. It was scary. When I say scary, I meant :SO SCARY!
  • We (my family and I) are in an emergency condition, because the water may be exposed to sewage, so we had to save water by not flushing the toilet if not necessary and not take bathes!
  • Basic groceries are disappearing so fast in the supermarket. Who's fast, gets first!
  • Petrol resources are limited for the vehicles that are not for emergencies or rescuing.
*P.S : I'm grateful that we're safe now.
*P.S.S: I hope we will remain safe.
*P.S.S.S: Please pray for us and other people here (Christchurch).
